Our goal is to teach you how to play the music that you love while infusing proper techniques and the fundamentals of music theory. We take pride in making our lessons fun and engaging for students of all ages.

We understand the importance of playing music with others. Music is a language and learning to communicate and play with others is a crucial element to becoming a successful musician. Once our students are comfortable, we offer the chance to perform in our Rock Band Recitals. These recitals are an exciting twist to a typical recital and allow our students to play contemporary and classic songs together on stage.

STYLES OF FOCUS: 

Even though our name is Rock Band School of Music we teach far more than just power chords and basic beats. Our teachers come from a wide variety of musical backgrounds: spanning everywhere from Pop to Classical, to Heavy Metal, and nearly everything in between. We see "Rock Music" as a giant umbrella and underneath that umbrella exists an incredible diversity of musical genres. Of course, we focus on formal academics as well. This includes topics such as site reading, ear training, music theory, time keeping, metric modulation, key signatures, improvisation, song writing/composition, and tons more. At RBSOM there is truly something for everyone. Here is just a sample of some of the styles our instructors are proficient in teaching.
